Broken Brick Initiative

Community Libraries and Information Centers

Through the Broken Brick Initiative David Curtis has worked with Barbara Shatara, a professional librarian with a distinguished career in information services, to start a Community Libraries and Information Centers (CLIC) project. CLIC provides information services to businesses, governments, and non-profit organizations, and advocates for the universal access to information for peoples around the world. We work to:

  • Provide information services to underserved populations
  • Support community libraries
  • Encourage democracy and government accountability
  • Improve access to information for global populations at risk
  • Design and implement issue-related projects to inform and inspire

Our latest efforts focused on up-to-date health and wellness presentation in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, including the latest mask guidance, vaccination and testing information, as well as up-to-date recommendations from the Vermont Department of Health. Our Public Health in Public Spaces project created a public COVID-19 information display with the latest COVID-19 news and information for businesses, colleges and the city of Burlington, Vermont.
